Our
residents enjoy the
highest staff to resident ratio available,
double that of our competitors which results
in employee longevity. Our long-term
employees therefore have the opportunity to
become familiar with the unique needs of
each of our residents so they are able to
bond insuring the best care possible.
Alzcare provides over 24 hours of training
to the staff each year which is twice the
state requirement.

At Alzcare
we look for people with
heart and
compassion. Individuals begin
their career with Alzcare as temporary
staff. We do not
start our caregivers off at full time
because we feel that both the residents,
fellow caregivers and management need to see
them as part of the Alzcare family before we
ask them to work full time. Furthermore,
PRN’s allow Alzcare to maintain a high
staffing ratio during times of vacations and
illnesses for the regular staff. This
insures better relationships between both
our staff and our residents. This is a
win-win situation for everyone.
Our caregivers also meet regularly to
discuss the care of the residents. A staff
member from each shift meets between shifts
to discuss the residents needs. Furthermore,
team members discuss options for
improvements in resident care, revised
assessments, care planning all the while
maintaining consistent communication with
the manager and the nurse.
All caregivers at Alzcare learn to recognize
subtle changes in residents’ condition. Our
staff longevity enables the staff to gain an
intimate knowledge
of their residents’ personal habits and
characteristics, much like a
mother would notice faint changes in their
child. This enables them to spot changes
quickly as they arise. Many health problems
when detected early can be managed by their
physician enabling them to continue to
function independently, and live in more
comfort. |
